First surgical 'Nobel Prize' goes to a Professor from UCPH
A group of international experts has selected Professor Henrik Kehlet as the first recipient of the new BJS Society Award in surgery.

About Henrik Kehlet
Professor Kehlet graduated as a medical doctor from the University of Copenhagen in 1968 and received his Ph.D.
in 1977 for studies related to the surgical stress response in patients undergoing steroid treatment.
He became a professor of surgery in Copenhagen in 1991 before being appointed as a professor of perioperative therapy in 2006, a position he still holds.
