Upper Makefield resident and Wall Street veteran Joseph Battipaglia, 55, a widely quoted stock market analyst, died Thursday afternoon, according to his employer, Stifel Nicolaus & Co.

He was a chief investment strategist for Stifel Nicolaus, which is a subsidiary of the Stifel Financial Corp.

Battipaglia was in Georgia, where he'd gone to speak at an investors' luncheon, when he suffered an apparent heart attack.
